Solus is a 2D animated Sci -Fi short film by Rue Hughes, Cameron Hansen and Ellie Claridge.
The film follows Gabby, the captain of a one-man spaceship, who has grown tired of her lonely lifestyle, until a routine delivery one day brings an unexpected visitor.
The visuals are heavily inspired by the ‘UPA revival’ style of the 2000s, as seen in shows like The Powerpuff Girls, and Dexter’s Laboratory, incorporating vivid volours and geometric shapes to give the environment that distinctly surreal look.
